Introduction

RSL clubs are part and parcel of everyday Australian life. From Alice Springs to Zeehan, every town has one.
    
Most clubs provide a bar and service, a restaurant or eating facility, pokies and even function facilities, which lead to a number of business reporting requirements. The Hornsby RSL Club on Sydney’s North Shore is no different, and is renowned for providing great services to the community.

With the club experiencing solid growth it was quickly realised that additional controls and reporting over their accounts and assets were needed.

That’s where a Sybiz solution was able to help them out.

The challenge

‘We were struggling to find a software package which helped us meet our reporting requirements yet was functional and easy to use when it came to day to day business needs and managing our club’s assets’ says Noel Fletcher, the club’s Financial Controller.

Adding to the club’s challenges was the fact that their financial year runs from January to December, which meant their window of opportunity for implementation was right in the middle of an audit, and at a time when many of their key financial staff were taking annual leave.

Not only would Hornsby RSL need the right solution, but it would need to be implemented quickly, efficiently and professionally.

Solution

Sydney’s Axsapt was the local business partner who came to Hornsby RSL’s rescue. After considering the club’s needs, both now and into the future, Axsapt put Sybiz Vision forward as the solution to the club’s challenges.

Sybiz Vision would provide an accounting solution along with an optional linked payroll system. It would provide the club with a well laid out and professional board pack and a set of customised reports which addressed the club’s exact requirements.

Results

The solution was delivered on budget and on time. Hornsby RSL’s managers and board now have timely access to the information they need to make decisions crucial to the club’s future.

We were juggling a lot of things throughout the implementation process but I’m pleased to say that neither us nor Axsapt dropped the ball.
