Important tax scale information
Sybiz Visipay 9.60 for 2012/13
If you haven’t yet upgraded to the new
Sybiz Visipay (version 10.00 and above) then you will need to be extremely careful with your transition to the new financial year.
Your business partner has been provided with an information pack to help you with the transition.
Before processing your first pay for the 2012/13 financial year you will need to be aware of the following:
- The flood levy and flood levy exemptions no longer apply.
- To commence the 2011/12 financial year you would have installed Sybiz Visipay 9.51 and selected a tax scale option to cater for the flood levy. As a result, the tax scale numbers may not correlate with the tax scale numbers for 2012/13.
- Tax scale 7 does not exist for the 2012/13 financial year.
- If your business partner has not yet contacted you regarding tax, HELP and SFSS scales for 2012/13 you will need to contact them for guidance in installing the scales and ensuring employees are aligned with the correct scales.
The NEW Sybiz Visipay
The transition to the new financial year will be much easier with the new Sybiz Visipay (version 10.00 and above).
If the PC you use to process pays is not normally connected to the internet we recommend that you temporarily allow this so tax scales for each company database can be automatically downloaded and any software updates can be installed. It's that easy.
Remember to check that each employee is aligned with the correct tax scale as the flood levy exemption tax scales and tax scale 7 do not apply for the 2012/13 financial year.

If you cannot connect your payroll PC to the internet then you can either install Sybiz Visipay on another PC that is connected to the internet and access the payroll database, or you can enter the scales manually.
