Important info for upgrading Sybiz Vision 64-bit

Sybiz Vision is available as a 64-bit version from version 15.00, enabling significant improvements to speed and performance over the 32-bit version.

Even in in modern PCs with heaps of RAM a 32-bit application is limited to 2 Gigabytes of memory (with a potential extension to 3 Gigabytes). 64-bit applications can use up to 16 Terabytes of memory – that’s 8,000 times more than a 32-bit application! In reality though the practical limit will be roughly equivalent to the amount of RAM installed on the PC.

To make the transition as smooth as possible, Sybiz Vision will very cleverly determine whether to use 32-bit or 64-bit based on whether your operating system is 32-bit or 64-bit. 64-bit Sybiz Vision is compatible with both 32-bit and 64-bit versions of Microsoft Office but before you go running off to upgrade Microsoft Office please be aware of the following:

Business Intelligence Centre (BIC) is still 32-bit only and requires 32-bit Microsoft Office
Sybiz Visipay is still 32-bit only and requires 32-bit Microsoft Office

If you are using BIC you can still upgrade to the 64-bit version of Sybiz Vision, however you will require access to 32-bit Microsoft Office. As always, it’s vital to involve your Sybiz Business Partner in the upgrade as they can also review other aspects of your setup to ensure you can get the most out of the new 64-bit version. If you are unsure which version you are using, use the ctrl + alt + del command while the relevant application is open, select task manager and locate it in the list. You will see 32-bit in brackets next to the application name if running the 32-bit version, or nothing in brackets if running the 64-bit version.
