Supporting entrepreneurship with business software

Using modern business software from the beginning could help entrepreneurs build a stable company

It can be difficult starting a new business at the best of times, let alone in the wake of a global recession.

To survive in a challenging market, it may be a good idea to implement the right business processes right from the beginning.

A modern, scalable accounting software program could help you manage your finances - and may be designed to grow with your business as it expands.

While entrepreneurs are often known for their innovation and creativity, those with good organisational skills and streamlined business practices may be more likely to stand out from the rest.

A good dose of self-promotion could also be the key to your success, helping to set your business apart from others in your industry.

The Innovation Centre Sunshine Coast (ICSC) is calling for Australian entrepreneurs and students nationwide to submit their ideas to a 'Dragon's Den' style competition to go into the running to win up to $15,000 in prizes.

"In these economically challenging times, entrepreneurs have to do more work to gain recognition and attract investment in the increasingly competitive environment, which is why opportunities like this are important," ICSC chief executive Mark Paddenburg said on April 1.

"This competition provides a practical and high profile way for anyone looking to advance their business or commercialise their new ideas," he added.
