This is an advance communication regarding upcoming changes from Microsoft that will affect Sybiz Vision and Sybiz Visipay users with Office 365 as their email type.
Microsoft will be implementing a more secure authentication protocol for Office 365 and cloud-based Exchange products from 13 October 2020. This will be done in conjunction with a decommissioning of their Basic Authentication for Exchange Web Services.
Plan now to upgrade Sybiz Vision and Visipay
If you are using Office 365 as your email type in Sybiz Vision and/or Sybiz Visipay we will be releasing an update in coming months to remain compatible with these services from 13 October.
As email configuration can be different from business to business, we recommend you confirm which email type you are using with Sybiz Vision and Sybiz Visipay.
Customers with Office 365 integration will need to upgrade to yet to be released versions Sybiz Vision and Sybiz Visipay prior to 13 October. Some additional steps will be required as part of the upgrade to configure your email service, therefore it is recommended you schedule this upgrade as soon as possible with your Authorised Business Partner.
How to check which email protocol you use
Not sure what email protocol you are using with Sybiz Vision and Sybiz Visipay? You can confirm this quickly and easily within your Sybiz solution.
Open the menu from the icon on the top left.
Then click the Options button.
And from the left menu, select Email Options.
Those affected will see Office 365 as their Email Type, as in the example below.
If you have confirmed you are using Office 365 as your email client for Sybiz Vision or Sybiz Visipay, you will need to contact your Authorised Business Partner to discuss upgrading before 13 October 2020.
