Each year Sybiz Vision and Visipay receive at least one major software release, in addition to other feature releases and updates throughout the year.
This year, as part of the Sybiz 22 major release, Sybiz solutions will be receiving a major upgrade to the Microsoft .NET Framework, going from version 4.6 to version 4.8. Microsoft .NET Framework is part of the foundation used to create and run Sybiz applications on Windows operating systems.
This enhancement will provide beneficial updates for hardware performance and accessibility, such as optimised resolution and font size capabilities for different screen sizes, as well as important updates to security patches and other back-end technology advancements.
As part of this important infrastructure improvement, some older operating systems will no longer be supported. These include:
- Microsoft Windows Server 2008 SP2
- Microsoft Windows Vista
- Microsoft Windows 8
If you are still using one of these operating systems, we need to hear from you as soon as possible

A full list of supported operating systems and additional information is available from the Microsoft website
. We recommend getting in touch with your Sybiz Authorised Business Partner if you require assistance identifying your operating system.
This update will not affect Microsoft SQL Server, but may impact servers running Web API or Sybiz Visipay Employee Self Service (ESS).
Some custom add-ons may require updating prior to upgrading to Sybiz 22. Some older supported operating systems may also be required to download .NET updates prior to installation of Sybiz 22, due to be released later in 2021.
As always, Sybiz recommends keeping up to date with the latest software releases where possible to ensure you meet compliance regulations and protect your data against cybersecurity threats. Properly securing the solutions that drive your operational performance every day should be a primary consideration for every business. If unsure, consult with your Sybiz Authorised Business Partner to determine if your solution may be impacted by these upcoming changes and help reduce any potential disruption.
