The Australian Federal government has passed the necessary legislation for JobKeeper ‘2.0’.
This has formalised changes first announced in late July and further amended in early August, extending JobKeeper to 28 March 2021 and replacing the $1,500/fortnight flat rate with a
two-tiered system from 28 September 2020.
The legislation also includes provisions for some employers who were eligible for the JobKeeper 1.0 scheme to utilise certain Fair Work provisions if they formally demonstrate a 10% decline in turnover compared to the September 2019 quarter.
