JobMaker credits to be claimed through Single Touch Payroll

JobMaker credits to be claimed through Single Touch Payroll The Australian Government’s raft of assistance packages continues to support Australian businesses and individuals in their recovery from the impact of COVID restrictions.

The JobMaker Hiring Credit was introduced from 6 October 2020 as a wage subsidy measure to support businesses who hire and retain younger Australians (aged 16 – 35 years) to stimulate employment.

Businesses can register now for JobMaker Hiring Credits through the ATO website. Credits are available for up to 12 months for each eligible employee hired between 7 October 2020 and 6 October 2021.

The first JobMaker period – 7 October 2020 to 6 January 2021 – must be claimed between 1 February 2021 and 30 April 2021. The mechanism for requesting JobMaker will, like JobKeeper, be managed through Single Touch Payroll.

Also, as with JobKeeper, JobMaker Hiring Credits must be claimed during set periods.
